Lucy Garrity
Storytelling and Circular Economics
From the beginning, Lucy has been inspired by the wonder of nature and the goodness of humans. She grew up in Colorado, where hiking up and leaping like a mountain goat down tall mountains infused her with the power of beauty and of freedom. In her early Colorado imprinting, personal integrity and universal respect were paramount. Nature invited wonder and exploration; people offered kindness and responsibility.
What people refer to as her “career” started in business and economic development, and Lucy was involved in some major projects around the Denver Metropolitan Areas - the Lowry Economic Recovery Project, the Broomfield City and County Study, and the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge transition, the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District market research study, to name particular favorites. Life threw her a “curve ball” and she pivoted to media development. Starting with RMPBS, then shifting to independent production of full length and short stories, Lucy has been committed to opening minds through the seemingly everyday since she began her writing, producing, directing and editing, 25 years ago. She has worked hard to be a source of inspiration and education through video, verbal, and written communications. More recently, a Covid immersion in regenerative agriculture, with four pioneers in this field (Gabe Brown, Ray Archuleta, Dr. Allen Williams, and Shane New), brought all that she cared about into a single vision: A “regenerative mindset” offers hope and healing for humanity and the planet.
Do you wonder what this means - a “regenerative mindset”? Lucy often does. When we think “regeneratively”, we approach the world with wonder at the possibilities. “Regenerating” is reforming, regrowing, and replacing, and this can take one of an endless potential of forms. Do we notice how this happens naturally, and in humanity? Imagine a lawn that starts to grow weeds to heal its sub-surface instabilities. If we think of people in crisis, they respond in ways no one ever anticipated or imagined. Both are beautiful. Both are full of inspiration and potential. If we’re willing, adopting a regenerative mindset invites us to think before the disease or crisis, to avert them both.
Lucy is passionate about hope and healing. Earth Regeneration Alliance offers both.
